MAHE

  • MAHE is synonymous with excellence in higher education. Over 28,000 students from 57 different nations live, learn and play in the sprawling University town, nestled on a plateau in Karnataka’s Udupi district. It also has nearly 2500 faculty and almost 10000 other support and service staff, who cater to the various professional institutions in health sciences, engineering, management, communication and humanities which dot the Wi-Fi-enabled campus.
  • The University has off-campuses in Mangalore and Bangalore, and off-shore campuses in Dubai(UAE) and Melaka (Malaysia). The Mangalore campus offers medical, dental, and nursing programs. The Bangalore Campus offers programs in Regenerative Medicine. The Dubai campus offers programs in engineering, management and architecture, and the Melaka campus offers programs in medicine and dentistry.
  • Every institute has world class facilities and pedagogy, which are constantly reviewed and upgraded to reflect the latest trends and developments in higher education.

MCOPS

  • This 60-year old institution, is a behemoth among colleges those offering programs in pharmaceutical sciences in the country. The growth of the institution has been spectacular, thanks to the benevolent management, dedicated faculty, supporting staff and enterprising students.
  • MCOPS attracts meritorious students from across the length and breadth of India and from abroad. MCOSP is known for quality in academics, research and extracurricular activities. At MCOPS, learning is facilitated through conduct of workshops, conferences, symposium and seminars.
  • MCOPS has been the launching pad for a large number of highly successful pharmaceutical scientists, entrepreneurs and academicians. The institution continues on its onward journey, true to its slogan – Marching with the Times.

Department

  • The Department of Pharmacy Practice of MCOPS, established at Kasturba Medical College Hospital, Manipal in 2001, specializes in clinical pharmacy services. The expanding roles of the department include the application of evidence based medicine towards patient safety, pharmaceutical care, clinical research in disease management and continuing pharmacy education programs.
  • The department offers Doctoral program (Ph.D), Master of Pharmacy (M.Pharm) in Pharmacy Practice, Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD), and a bridge course viz. PharmD (Post baccalaureate) for BPharm graduates. The department has a team of 11 dedicated faculty, well trained at first rate universities and hospitals abroad including National Cancer Institute, University of Michigan, University of Southern California, Tufts Medical Center, Boston, Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario, Canada, Uppsala University, Sweden. The faculty received research grants from ICMR, DST, AICTE and scholarships/awards from ISPOR, ISPE, NPS, CICS, CSIR, DST, ICMR etc. The departmental h-index (>20) demonstrates the scholarly influence.
  • The department is managing five research centres in the areas of Translational Research, Toxicovigilance, Pharmaceutical care, Pharmacometrics and Public Health Pharmacy to innovate and train the students. The faculty have expertise in diverse areas such as Medication Therapy Management, Patient safety, Pharmacometrics, Clinical toxicology, Antibiotic stewardship, Assessment of evidence for therapeutics etc. The department is equipped with latest software packages for academic and research activities.

About CPCON

Health care system is evolving rapidly around the globe through consolidation, corporatization and accreditation processes. Quality and safety of health care delivery plays a pivotal role in this scenario. Clinical pharmacists can catalyse the changes required in healthcare sector for adapting to the evolving system by collaborating with other healthcare providers.

The highlights of the conference are academic and research conclave of pharmacy practitioners and students from various institutions in India and abroad in collaboration with other healthcare practitioners, educational symposiums and plenary sessions from multi-disciplinary experts, research presentations, professional networking, and providing platform for academy-industry collaborated projects.
